SWIM-A-THON

IMPORTANT UPDATE

If we don’t meet our $10k goal, we will need to make up the shortfall in our budget by asking for additional fees from parents prior to end of the season – Swim A thon is our single largest fundraiser, and it is critical to ensure we keep fees as low as possible.  So, we want to sweeten the pot to ensure we get maximum involvement and FUN by adding to the event this year!

NEW FOR 2020

EARN Participation Points:
  1. Registering for Swim-A-Thon – you will receive 25 participation points!

Swim-a-thon?

Each swimmer swims 200 lengths = 5KM (or as much as they can) starting at their start time. This is a fun event and is designed to challenge your swimmer.

On Swim-a-thon day your swimmer shows up with a person to count their laps. There is a maximum of 2 hours to complete the 200 lengths.

STEP 1:
Register your swimmer. For families with multiple swimmers it is suggested that you register as a family instead of individually. Click on: www.ontarioswimathon.ca/norac
STEP 2:
Send out an email, post the link on Facebook, tweet on Twitter, Snap Chat and start collecting. Donations can be received now and after the day of the swim-a-thon.

STEP 3:

Join us: THURSDAY MARCH 26, 2020 at Jack Burger Complex and SWIM 🙂
Elite, Sr Dev – start time 3:00 (4 lanes)
Jr Dev, Youth Plus – start time 4:00 (6 lanes)

Each swimmer swims 200 lengths = 5KM (or as much as they can) starting at their designated start time and will have 2 hours. This is a fun event and is designed to challenge your swimmer.

Your swimmer will need someone to count their laps on Swim-a-thon day.
The counter will sit on the pool deck to count and offer encouragement.
Counting sheet and clipboard will be provided.

Our GOAL: $10,000.00
NORAC has one of the lowest club fees in the GTA. We would like to continue to offer as low as fees possible by using the proceeds from Swim-a-thon.
Our club directly receives 90% of the funds raised so let’s try and meet our goal.
Last year, we came very close to reaching this goal, this year I feel we can.

As a club, we all benefit from your participation.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This year Swimming Canada is unable to issue any tax receipts in any circumstance.  You may find out more information here: https://swimming.ca/en/resources/swimming-canada-overview/swim-a-thon-online/
